Boroka Downs

Five residences on a property that borders the Grampians National Park, one couple per residence, no visitors, no drones, no kids. The owners have been there since 2001 and put a Trust for Nature covenant over the land — protected in perpetuity, which is the kind of thing you find at properties run by people who mean it. The buildings are insulated, double-glazed, solar-laundered and rain-tanked. The decks face east for sunrises with kangaroos. Self check-in; you don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to. Halls Gap is minutes away. The Grampians Peaks Trail starts close enough that you can walk it and be back in the spa before lunch.
