The only pub in Coffs Harbour with the beach on its doorstep, this Park Beach institution pairs a big beer garden and near-constant live music with a bistro that turns out honest pub food. Dinner runs from five most evenings, a little later on Fridays and Saturdays, so it covers the town's early-evening gap for a casual sit-down feed. It is a sprawling, unpretentious operation, bars, function rooms, accommodation and a bottle shop, but independently run and firmly a hotel rather than a services club. The draw is the setting as much as the plate: sand and surf a few steps away, a relaxed crowd, and weekend sessions that spill into the garden. A good pick when the plan is a laid-back beachside dinner with a band on somewhere in the background.
