Brad and Stacey Allan left careers in Gladstone for an overgrown Ballandean vineyard in 2013, on the Granite Belt — Australia's highest wine country. In 2015 they planted their own vines, among them one of the first Alvarinho plantings in the country, alongside Gros Manseng. Everything is estate-grown, hand-pruned and hand-picked, made in small batches and sometimes foot-stomped and basket-pressed. They built the winery and cellar door themselves and opened to guests at Easter 2025. The Alvarinho carries a 94-point Halliday rating.
