Local skipper and guide Graeme Challis runs cruises down the lower Blackwood River aboard the purpose-built Dolphin Discoverer, licensed for 29 passengers and departing the Ellis Street Jetty a short walk from town. His family settled on the Blackwood in 1923, and he shares a lifetime of river knowledge and stories as dolphins play in the boat's wake. The river is a haven for birdwatchers, with around 60 species recorded, and the cruise passes the barge-access-only Molloy Island where the Blackwood and Scott rivers meet.
