An hour north of Brisbane at Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast, this is the wildlife park built by the Irwin family and made famous by Steve Irwin. More than a thousand animals live across habitats ranging from Australian bushland to African savannah and Southeast Asian forest, with crocodile demonstrations in the Crocoseum its best-known draw. Conservation runs through the operation, from koalas and cassowaries to tigers and cheetahs. Open daily.
