Australia's only surviving B-24 Liberator is being restored here, in one of the World War II hangars on the old Werribee airfield outside Melbourne. It is the only remaining Liberator in the Southern Hemisphere and one of just eight left in the world. Volunteers carry out the intricate work of returning the airframe to complete condition, drawing on skills in aircraft restoration, engineering and museum collection management. A virtual tour and a library and archives accompany the restoration in progress.
