More than 50,000 second-hand books fill this long-standing shop in the Beardy Street mall, on Anaiwan land in the centre of Armidale, alongside a smaller range of new titles, vinyl records and DVDs. A cafe and wine bar occupy part of the premises, so browsing can stretch into coffee, cake or a glass of something, and the shop trades on the last Sunday of each month during the markets in the mall. It functions as much as a meeting place and events space as a retailer, with a regular programme of happenings. For collectors and general readers alike, it is the district's principal source of used and antiquarian books, and one of the larger second-hand bookshops in regional New South Wales.
