Gary Trist planted at St Andrews in 1991 and spent seventeen years selling the fruit to boutique Yarra winemakers before bottling under his own name in 2008. He is a mechanical engineer as well as a viticulturist, and designed the gravity flow winery himself. His son Joel came up through Mac Forbes and James Lance, then worked a 2018 vintage across Burgundy and Tuscany, which is why there is Sangiovese here alongside the Pinot.
