On Tumbarumba's Winton Street, a licensed café doubles as a small-town cinema and bookshop, so a long lunch can slide into an afternoon film. The kitchen leans on the seasons and the surrounding orchards and vineyards, with an on-site kitchen garden supplying herbs and greens; cakes and treats are baked in-house. Breakfasts run through the morning, lunch fills the middle of the day, and Friday nights plus a booked Sunday brunch extend the week. Diners can sit in the garden, by the fire in winter, or in front of a screening. Regional wines and cider from the Tumbarumba district sit alongside the coffee. Open Monday to Saturday, it works as much as a gathering place as an eatery, and is one of the more distinctive rooms in the Snowy Valleys.
