Barry Gardner runs a family knifemaking business in the Barossa Valley, near Seppeltsfield, making kitchen and hunting knives by hand and to order. Each blade is built individually, shaped around the way it will be used and meant to serve for generations. Beyond the bench, Gardner has taught the craft to thousands through face-to-face workshops, now carried on as online courses, and keeps a small retail arm known as The Tiny Knife Shop. The work leans on function first, with an eye to the quiet beauty of a well-made tool.
