On the Utopia homelands about 250 kilometres north-east of Alice Springs, this community-controlled centre represents Alyawarr and Anmatyerr painters spread across sixteen remote outstations. The country is famous as the home of Emily Kam Kngwarray and a lineage of celebrated desert painters, and the centre keeps that tradition working: a place where artists paint, sell their canvases and pass knowledge between generations.
