On Pittwater Road in Manly, this bottle shop built its opening stock entirely around sustainable and natural wine, a narrower brief than most liquor retailers set themselves, and one that has since supported two more shops in Rozelle and Avalon. The range favours organic, biodynamic and minimal-intervention producers over mainstream labels, filled out with craft beer, sake and artisan spirits chosen with the same low-intervention logic. It arrived as one of the first dedicated natural wine specialists on Sydney's northern beaches, a part of the city better known for surf shops than serious wine retail, and the gap it filled has been noted by local food and drink press. Trading hours run long, from late morning to evening most days and later on Thursdays through Saturdays. For beachside locals it has become the default for a considered bottle; for visitors staying near Manly it is a useful detour from the ferry wharf for something beyond the standard bottle-o range.
