A not-for-profit initiative on Sturt Street, Ballarat, The Unicorn Collection hires its CBD shopfront month-to-month to makers, artists and emerging brands needing a proper street-facing space without a long lease. Gallery walls, hanging system, plinths, display windows, wheelchair access. The kind of low-barrier infrastructure the creative sector actually needs.

Patricia Walsh has run this mud-brick gallery on Possum Gully Road for twenty years, showing original works — including lithographs by Dean Bowen — against a garden full of sculpture. Open weekends and public holidays, 11am–5pm. The surrounding Box-Ironbark bush, part of Paddy's Ranges State Park, adds context that most galleries can't manufacture.
