Breweries in Bendigo

The set spreads well past the city — two in Castlemaine, one in Heathcote, one in East Bendigo — and buildings matter to it. Bendigo Brewing works out of a converted 1980s gym warehouse beside the Golden Dragon Museum, sitting on the foundations of the 1850s Kent Brewery, community-owned and brewing on site with open fermentation and a house yeast strain. Shedshaker holds The Mill precinct, a few doors from its original shed. Several don't stop at beer: an Italian-inspired kitchen, an art space showing work by artists who identify with a disability, a distillery adding vodka and amaretto.
