Phillip Cross planted his first vines here in 1994, a decade after buying the property, and pressed his first vintage — a Cabernet Sauvignon under the PJ's label — in 2002. The 25-hectare vineyard runs on stored dam water through summer. Fifty minutes from Adelaide, Langhorne Creek rarely gets the attention it deserves; this family operation is a good reason to make the detour.
