Barron Falls Lookout

Cairns & Tropical North, QLD

A thundering 260-metre waterfall best viewed from the lookout platforms accessible via the Kuranda Scenic Railway or Skyrail. During the wet season the falls become one of the most powerful waterfalls in Australia with massive volumes of water plunging into the gorge. The surrounding Barron Gorge National Park provides a dramatic backdrop of ancient rainforest. Dry season sees reduced flow but the gorge views remain spectacular.
