Bassine Specialty Cheeses is a family-run farmhouse operation in Glen Forbes, South Gippsland, making cheese by hand three to four days weekly from their own Holstein Friesian herd. The milk travels metres from dairy to cheese room, remaining non-homogenised and unadjusted. The on-site farm cafe serves cheese platters with seasonal local accompaniments, espresso coffee, milkshakes made from their own whole milk, and Licca Lucca gelato produced on-site. Award-winning cheeses include Bassine Queen Brie, Peppato, and Wonthaggi. Established 1966; currently operated by Glen Bisognin and Kaye.
