Contemporary Art Tasmania

Six major exhibitions a year in a North Hobart gallery space, plus off-site projects around Tasmania and nationally. Since 2010, four artist studios above the offices have run a 12-month residency program. The focus is experimental work that engages with contemporary ideas rather than consolidates them — a useful distinction in a city where art tourism can flatten everything into spectacle.
