Giovanni-Battista Della Franca planted the first apple tree here in 1939. Four generations later, his family is basket-pressing and barrel-fermenting cider from nine apple varieties on the same 40-acre block in Pickering Brook, 35 minutes from Perth. The Harvest Room cellar door looks out over the orchard; the Cider Garden does pizzas and picnics.
