Cuppa Cabana

Running since 2009, this Tanby Road roastery-cafe has become the Capricorn Coast's home-grown coffee supplier, roasting weekly and to order rather than trucking beans up from the south. Owners Joel and Katrina check each roast themselves and back it with barista training, equipment and wholesale supply to cafes across Yeppoon, Rockhampton, Zilzie and Byfield, an unusually deep operation for a coastal town. The shopfront pours espresso and specialty teas and stocks grinders, tools and takeaway gear for the trade. For visitors it works as both a casual coffee stop and a place to buy beans roasted a few kilometres from where they are brewed. Independent and locally owned, it anchors the region's specialty scene.
