The most famous view in the Blue Mountains, and one of the most photographed in the country. From the railed terrace at Echo Point the sandstone pinnacles of the Three Sisters rise straight out of the forested Jamison Valley, catching the light gold at sunrise and rose at dusk. Beyond them the escarpment rolls away in blue haze - the tint, from fine eucalyptus oil in the air, that gave the mountains their name. The Giant Stairway drops from here into the valley for those who want to walk among the cliffs, and a paved path leads to quieter lookouts along the rim. It is busy for good reason; arrive early and the amphitheatre is yours.
