Built for a Queensland Governor's summer retreat in 1863, Gabbinbar sits 700 metres above sea level on the Great Dividing Range outside Toowoomba. The heritage-listed Gothic Revival main house — high peaked gables, leadlight windows, architect Willoughby Powell's design — has hosted weddings since 2012 after restoration from disrepair. The ballroom and carriageway gardens remain.
