Salvatore Gerbino's family opened in New Farm in 2003 and moved to Ashgrove a year later, into a brick bakehouse that is among the oldest in Brisbane. The baker came from Venice and the pastry chefs from Sicily, so the cannoli and the biscotti are the point, though the lamingtons and meat pies sit in the same cabinet. Zeppole are made once a year, for the Feast of San Giuseppe on 19 March.
