Box-ironbark forest wraps around the northern and southern edges of Bendigo, protecting one of central Victoria's largest surviving stands of this goldfields woodland. The park is one of six Aboriginal Title parks jointly managed with the Dja Dja Wurrung. Bushland tracks climb to the fire lookout tower on One Tree Hill, with views over the city and ranges, while spring brings wildflowers and swift parrots to the understorey. Areas set aside for fossicking recall the diggings that once tore through this country.
