Brian Mullany planted the first vines on his wedding day in 1989. That origin story has since grown into 100 hectares of cool-climate vineyard on Hilltops' red volcanic soils, with the cellar door housed in a former cherry-pickers' shed. Shiraz is the standout — Hilltops fruit won the Jimmy Watson in 2010 — alongside nearly 40 wines spanning Nebbiolo, Zinfandel, Barbera and Sangiovese.
