Luke Fallon has spent thirty-nine years in Australia's charter fishing industry, since starting as a teenage crewman, and has guided barramundi since the early 1990s. He grew up in Townsville fishing Peter Faust Dam — Lake Proserpine — within a few years of its construction, and moved his barramundi guiding there permanently in 2021, working the dam's timbered edges and weed lines from a 5.8-metre custom O'Brien centre console alongside his wife Kelly, herself a charter-industry veteran and angler. Full-day charters run a minimum of eight hours, with half-day morning or afternoon options; technique shifts between jerk-baiting heavy timber, vibing weed edges and shallow points, and sight-casting fish on the surface, and the dam fishes year-round rather than to a closed season. Fallon is known on the water for his use of forward-facing sonar, and clients book in specifically to learn their own livescope setups from him. Across the same career he has skippered some of Australian gamefishing's best-known boats chasing giant black marlin, and spent nine years running a gameboat as a mothership for Gulf of Carpentaria barra trips through the March-to-June runoff. He holds Master V and Marine Engine Driver Grade I tickets.
