Mon Repos supports the largest concentration of nesting marine turtles on the eastern Australian mainland and the South Pacific's most significant loggerhead nesting population. During turtle season, Queensland Parks rangers lead nightly Turtle Encounter tours onto the beach from 7pm until late — the schedule belongs to the turtles, not the itinerary. By day the centre is free to enter, with the ticketed Turtle Tales theatre, ranger-guided track walks and the Milbi Café. No captive turtles, anywhere.
