At the top of the Illawarra escarpment above Wollongong, a summit park run as an annex of Wollongong Botanic Garden holds a significant Aboriginal cultural heritage site. A fifteen-minute loop walk follows the escarpment edge, with views from the Royal National Park in the north across the city centre to Port Kembla, the Five Islands and Lake Illawarra. Behind the picnic area, the Six Daughters of the West Wind sculpture at the south-facing lookout commemorates the mountain's creation story, and the path back to the carpark passes through the Escarpment Edge Silvertop Ash Forest.
