Mowanjum Art &Culture Centre

Ten kilometres outside Derby, this art centre and museum serves the Worrorra, Ngarinyin and Wunambal Gambera peoples of the Mowanjum community. The focus is Wandjina — the sacred creator figures whose iconography these groups have custodied for generations. Artist studios, gallery space and a community museum sit alongside Australia's longest-running Indigenous cultural festival, held here annually.
