On the edge of the historic village of Pambula, near Merimbula on the Sapphire Coast, this community-managed reserve covers around 77 hectares of freshwater billabongs, saltmarsh and grassy floodplain beside the Pambula River. A network of level walking and cycling paths, viewing platforms and information panels threads through habitat rich in birdlife, with easy loops suited to prams, bikes and walkers. Rehabilitated over years by local volunteers, it's one of the far south coast's most accessible wetland walks.
