Nick Driver, Ben Johnston and Kalina Koloff opened Queenies on the Kingston corner in October 2020 — Art Deco, brass and glass, velvet, seating salvaged from a 1907 train carriage, and a painted circus canvas of Liliokalani, billed as Australia's first belly dancing queen. Cocktails are named for Stevie Nicks, Hedy Lamarr and Helen Reddy; beer comes only from independent brewers. The kitchen leans hard on native ingredients — finger lime, samphire, wattleseed, riberry.
