Three keeper's cottages from 1875 stand at Sugarloaf Point, where the lighthouse still works and the gate shuts to the public at sunset, leaving the headland to whoever is staying. The Head Keeper's and two Assistant Keepers' cottages are self-contained, verandahs facing the open Pacific. From June to October, humpbacks pass close enough to hear. On Worimi land, inside Myall Lakes National Park.
