Silvana Ferrario makes kiln-formed glass in the Perth Hills, drawing on an unlikely combination of sources: childhood memory, scuba diving, and a career in subsea engineering. The work is open by appointment at her Mahogany Creek studio, with guest pieces by Christine Hingston and Liz Berry alongside. The kiln's unpredictability—transformative or catastrophic, she says—is part of the point.
