Small Mouth Distillery

A 1960s cellar door with tunnels deeper underground, originally used to store wine at ideal temperature, sits within the Hunter Valley Garden Shopping Village.

Visitors book tastings of spirits made on-site: Shimmering Blended Whisky, Shimmering Spiced Rum, Shimmering Gin, Shimmering Vodka, Shimmering Lemoncello, and Shimmering Liqueurs. Free tastings run on weekdays and Sundays.

The space is rustic and homey. The spirits contain edible glitter that adds no flavour or texture but creates a shimmering effect in the bottle and in cocktails. They are made using copper pot stills from organic and premium ingredients, and are vegan, dairy free, and gluten free.

The distillery is family owned and operated, established in 2013 after Paul, a master distiller who had made the vodka from the start, partnered with Peter to take over and reshape the business into an experience centred on quality and passion.

The spirits won three silver medals in 2023—one each for the Sambuca, Habanero Storm Liqueur, and Passionfruit Vodka.
