Tasman Venture

Lloyd and Robyn Burgess have run boat-based adventures out of the Great Sandy Straits for more than thirty years, working the calm water off K'gari (Fraser Island). Full-day trips reach remote parts of the island for kayaking, snorkelling and freshwater creek walks, while half-day cruises chase the humpbacks that pass through Hervey Bay on their southern migration from early July to late October. Group tours carry up to 35, with smaller private charters capped at ten. The operation holds Advanced Ecotourism certification and works within a designated Whale Heritage Site.
