The British press called Rev. JSM Ward the man who collects houses. He assembled thirty salvaged buildings and a replica prehistoric village at his New Barnet folk park in 1934; the Blitz closed it, and what survived of his antiquities followed his religious community to Cyprus, then the Blue Mountains, then a Caboolture farm in 1965. Four and a half thousand objects spanning a million years, opened here in 1986.
