The 1920s Commercial Bank on Maria Street — the first on Tasmania's East Coast — reopened in 2023 as a small-plates dining room. Tapas-style dishes are built to share and draw almost entirely on East Coast and wider Tasmanian produce: smoked quail terrine, scallop ceviche, skewers of spiced chicken, matched to a list of local wine, cocktails and beer. The heritage rooms have been kept largely intact, down to the old strongroom, now a private 'Vault' dining space; a large courtyard handles the warmer months. It fills a gap in Swansea for a produce-led restaurant that reads as neither pub nor café, and works equally for a glass of Tasmanian riesling or a longer sit-down.
