A short walk from Hobart's waterfront on Victoria Street, this small cafe keeps its convictions plain: every dish is plant-based, on the principle that animals are friends, not food. Mornings run to unhurried brunch, plates built on local produce and the occasional Beyond patty, alongside organic coffee and a wall of loose-leaf Taiwanese tea that hints at the owners' heritage. The sweets cabinet does much of the talking, from custom cakes to the kind of desserts that make the plant-based label almost beside the point. It is a daytime room, closing mid-afternoon and dark on Sundays, and it trades in gentleness rather than noise: soft light, careful coffee, a menu that treats vegan cooking as ordinary hospitality. For a city better known for oysters and game, it is a quietly persuasive corner.
