A 177-year-old North Hobart pub on Argyle Street, recently taken over by new owner Paul and renovated — pub on the ground floor, gastropub menu and a row of guest rooms upstairs, with welcome cocktails left in each room's fridge. The fit-out is modern-retro, the spirit shelf leans local. Earlier owners include retired Tasmanian AFL footballer John Devine, who held the freehold in the late 1960s. The previous incarnation traded as the Waggon and Horses Hotel.
