Coldstream's Tokar Estate makes a point of the amphora — their special-release Tempranillo fermented in clay sits at the serious end of a lineup that also includes a Coldstream Vineyard Reserve Pinot Noir and single-vineyard Shiraz and Cabernet. The cellar door runs seven days; the restaurant Thursday to Sunday. Six Maddens Lane is a full day's itinerary in itself.
