The 1876 Bank of Australasia headquarters at the corner of Collins and Queen Streets, designed by Joseph Reed of Reed & Barnes — the architect behind Melbourne Town Hall, the State Library, and the Royal Exhibition Building. The original two-storey Renaissance Revival building was constructed in Oamaru stone imported from New Zealand; A. & K. Henderson added three matching storeys in 1930. Listed on the Victorian Heritage Register since 1974. Operated by Accor as the Sebel until 2013, now independently run as 115 heritage suites and apartments.
