The oldest wholly indigenous-owned art centre in the Kimberley, Waringarri has operated in Miriwoong country since the late 1970s. More than 100 artists work across painting, printmaking, wood carving, boab engraving and textiles — many in open studios that spill into landscaped gardens. Painted veranda poles, sandblasted paver designs and the Dawang Gallery's multimedia presentations make the place feel less like a shop than a working cultural institution.
