Wellington Caves &Phosphate Mine Museum

WELLINGTON, NEW SOUTH WALES

Three cave sites sit beneath Apsley, a short drive south of Wellington off the Mitchell Highway, where tours descend through a landscape that holds Australia's first megafauna discovery. Above ground, the Visitor Experience Centre runs a Discovery Lab with fossils, a free Ancient Landscapes exhibition, and a gift shop stocking local makers and producers. Open daily until mid-afternoon; a facility of Dubbo Regional Council.
