Ten people gathered after a painting class in 1972 and formed what is now a fixture on Woolgoolga's Ashton's Flat. The community art group runs two galleries — one for solo and small-group exhibitions, one for broader membership work — plus ceramics studios with wheels and a kiln. Classes run across four school terms; weekend workshops fill the holidays.
