Chris and Dylan Duong — unrelated despite the shared surname — built their name on Duo Duo's deep-fried ice cream before stripping the format back for this pink-tiled kiosk on Steam Mill Lane. Kuki does two things: soft serve and warm cookies, sold separately or stacked together. The rotation runs from roasted hazelnut and cocoa to Assam and Earl Grey tea and Kensington Pride mango from the Northern Territory, spooned alongside brown-butter choc chip, roasted macadamia and taro mochi cookies baked fresh through service. The 21-square-metre shopfront, fitted with a marble counter and a peach awning by Sydney studio Inco, sits in the Steam Mill Lane dining strip behind Darling Square. It has built a following largely through word of mouth on social media, and on weekends the queue for a still-warm cookie folded into soft serve can run past the neighbouring stalls. Open daily from midday.
