Square RockNamadgi

堪培拉地区, ACT

A well-graded track climbs through the snow-gum forest of Namadgi National Park to Square Rock, a jumble of great granite tors perched on the range with a timber platform threaded among them. The view opens across the Tidbinbilla valley to the Brindabella Range, wide and wild, with the Canberra plains beyond. At around nine kilometres return the walk is a solid half-day, gentle enough for most but long enough to feel earned. Snow dusts the track in winter and the wildflowers are fine in summer. It is one of the best day walks in the ACT high country.
