Booroomba Rocks

CANBERRA DISTRICT, ACT

A steep, rewarding walk in the northern end of Namadgi National Park climbs to the top of Booroomba Rocks, a great sweep of granite slab and cliff that falls away to the Tidbinbilla valley and the ranges beyond. The summit is one of the finest viewpoints near Canberra, taking in the Brindabellas and, on a clear day, the distant city. The cliffs are a celebrated rock-climbing wall, and the granite glows gold at sunset. The track is short but sharp; the view at the top is worth every step.
