Run by the Mungalla Aboriginal Corporation on an 880-hectare property twelve kilometres east of Ingham, these 3.5-hour day tours share Nywaigi culture, dreamtime stories and the pioneering history of the old Cassady homestead. Guests throw a boomerang, taste bush tucker like crocodile, barramundi and kangaroo, and walk restored wetlands alive with aquatic birdlife on the edge of Halifax Bay. A pictorial exhibition tells the confronting Captive Lives story of Aboriginal people once exhibited in nineteenth-century circuses. A deluxe option adds a gourmet feast of native foods and tropical fruit.
