The Hinchinbrook Channel and its mangrove creeks run clean and productive, and most of what fills the cabinets here is caught in them: wild fish, prawns, mud crabs and oysters shucked to order, filleted on site and traced to accredited local boats. Started in 2008 as a seafood retailer, it added a cafe, gelato counter and gourmet pantry in 2022, and now pours locally roasted coffee and scoops house-made sorbet alongside the wet fish. The kitchen's fish and chips were named the state's best in 2026. It reads as a fishmonger that grew into a provisions shop: the sustainability line is backed by Master Fishermen accreditation through OceanWatch, and the emphasis stays on Herbert River catch rather than anything trucked north.
