A low, open stretch of shoreline on Port Phillip Bay about eleven kilometres from central Melbourne, where saltmarsh, mud-flats and stands of white mangrove line the mouth of Kororoit Creek. The seventy-hectare park is one of the bay's better bird-watching spots, with well over a hundred species recorded, from pelicans and black swans to migratory shorebirds. The sealed Hobsons Bay Coastal Trail runs through it, popular with walkers, cyclists and dog-walkers. Managed by Hobsons Bay City Council at Altona.
